Tensorflow — A Machine Learning Platform

TensorFlow is Google's open-source machine learning platform. It powers everything from translation features in apps to recommendation systems on streaming services. For designers and product teams, the interesting question is: when does ML earn its place in a product?

The answer is rarely at the demo stage. Most ML features in shipped products quietly improve fit between user and content — better search, smarter defaults, fewer empty states. The successful ones don't announce themselves.

If you're considering an ML feature, start by writing the user-facing copy first. If it reads like a useful product, the ML is probably worth the engineering cost. If it reads like a press release, it isn't.
